Hello, I'm Jane, the owner and founder of Agnes and Vera, named after my grandmothers.

Over the past thirty years I have had the pleasure of running six shops across Dorset. It was tremendous fun and hard work, of course, but from the buying, the customer contact and creating new window displays, I was in my element.

Unfortunately, life threw me a curveball. A surgery to my leg went wrong. Just one injection in the wrong place, that's all it took, and suddenly I was not able to walk. Something I could never have imagined.

Having a disability isn't on everyone's wish list. But life goes on, and you accept and adapt. Turns out that me and my walker are inseparable, and it also serves as a ready and willing trolley to carry boxes around.

I'm absolutely thrilled to be able to create my new online shop. I'm dedicated to sourcing beautiful and useful things for you, from home accessories and gifts to a treat for yourself. My website is full of lovely items, hand picked by myself.
